returning a work of art within 40 days of receipt for a refund of the purchase price, or exchanging an item for another in the Park West Gallery collection for up to 40 months.

Beginning September 1, 2008, the new 40-40-40 policy will be in effect at Park West Gallery land-based auctions, as well as auctions at sea on cruise lines featuring Park West Gallery art, including Carnival Cruises, Disney Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, and Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. work purchased for any other work in the Park West Gallery collection of the same or greater price up to 40 months after the date of the invoice. Customers wishing to exchange items will be credited with the amount paid for the work purchased, including buyer’s premium and excluding shipping and handling, with the only charges being shipping and handling and any price difference when the exchange is for a work of greater price. Alexandre Rockwell to direct documentary of event

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - Park West Gallery, one of the world’s largest fine art dealers, marked its 40th anniversary this July by bringing more than 40 artists to Detroit, offering journalists a
unique opportunity to interview some of the biggest names in the art world. The artists, along with a number of well-known art historians and writers, stayed at the Townsend Hotel in
Birmingham, Mich., and convened at Park West’s 63,000-square-foot gallery in Southfield, Mich., for the two-day event.

While in the Detroit area, the artists collaborated on a book commemorating Park West Gallery’s anniversary, 40 Years of Art and Art History, edited by Louis Postel. Slated for publication in
2009, the book will feature conversations with and portraits of the artists, as well as a foreword by the noted art historian Anthony Janson.

Since its establishment in 1969, Park West Gallery has helped launch the careers of hundreds of contemporary artists, providing fine artwork to more than 1.2 million clients in more than 70
countries around the world. Among the artists attending the anniversary celebration are Yaakov Agam, Thomas Kinkade, Peter Max, Csaba Marcus, Anatole Krasnyansky, Fanch Ledan, Linda
LeKinff, Tomasz Rut, Igor Medvedev, and Itzchak Tarkay. The event will also feature South African realist painter Andrew Bone, who works in the bush of Africa; British artist Simon Bull, who recently painted the life of Muhammad Ali; and American photo-
realist painter Scott Jacobs.

Park West CEO Albert Scaglione said of the 40th anniversary event: “I was  truly energized by the agreement from all of these creative, artistic talents to come together in one place at one time so that this book can be created. Peter Max’s work is recognized around the world, and Yaakov Agam arguably has created more monumental works than any other artist in history. Agam is installing a 75-foot by 33-foot sculpture in front of the new Olympic Stadium in Taiwan, China. He is coming directly from meetings there to our Park West event. Simon Bull has been
working for the past year-and-a-half on more than one hundred original paintings of Muhammad Ali, four of which were selected by Ali and are now hanging in his new home in Louisville, Ky. Louis Postel, the editor of the book, has been able to retain the writer Anthony Janson, co-author of the Janson’s History of Art, the most widely used art textbook in the world, to write the foreword of the book. Many other important art historians and writers will also be at the event.”

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – American pop artists Romero Britto and Lisa Grubb are bringing a blast of color to a hungry European audience at the Skoda PopArt2 Exhibition in Berlin, Germany this month. The show, which runs through July 31, 2008, features 15 living, contemporary artists from eight countries. It builds upon the success of  the first Skoda PopArt Exhibition, which featured pop art legends Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein.
